Most academic and administrative offices on campus will send messages to your Mail@NDSU address. You may choose to have mail addressed to your Mail@NDSU address delivered to an off-campus service (Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, etc.). If for any reason this delivery fails, you may miss important official communications. You are still responsible for those communications.
The ITS Help Desk cannot provide help for e-mail services not provided by NDSU.
To have Mail@NDSU delivered to an off-campus service,
- Go to enroll.nodak.edu and provide the requested information.
- On the page that lists your services, click on Email Delivery.
- You will see information about your current maildrop:
Currently e-mail addressed to firstname.lastname@ndsu.edu is delivered to the imap.ndsu.nodak.edu server." This indicates that the maildrop is using the Mail@NDSU server.
- Click Specify a different maildrop.
- Enter the e-mail address to which you want e-mail sent to your Mail@NDSU address delivered.
NOTE: Be careful when you enter this address. If you specify an incorrect or incomplete e-mail address, e-mail addressed to your Mail@NDSU address may be lost.
Click Request that your maildrop be changed.- After the maildrop has been changed, you should test the change by sending a message to your Mail@NDSU address. If the maildrop you requested is working properly, the message should be delivered to your new maildrop.
NOTE: If you have been using a Mail@NDSU e-mail account, you will not be able to access your account after you change your maildrop. You will not be able to send any mail using your Mail@NDSU address.
