About the Spam Filter

Constituting 70 to 80% of NDSU's incoming e-mail, spam is a problem. Information Technology Services has developed a spam filter that significantly reduces the amount of spam received by NDSU and HECN-South e-mail users.

The spam filter is an opt-in service that allows users to select from two levels of spam protection. Users may also populate Safe Sender and Block Sender lists. The Safe Sender list is a user-defined collection of e-mail addresses that are considered to be trusted. The Block Sender list is a user-defined collection of e-mail addresses that are undesired. Mail from senders on this list will always be deleted. This spam service has greatly reduced the amount of spam received by the average user.

To enable the spam filter, visit http://enroll.nodak.edu, choose the Spam Filter option, and select from the two different levels of service.
