Configure Mac Mail
- From the Mail menu, select Preferences
- Click Add Account
- On the Account Information window,
enter the following information:
- Account Type: IMAP
- Description: NDSU
- Email Address:Your e-mail address
- Full Name: Your full name
- Incoming Mail Server: imap.ndsu.nodak.edu
- User Name: Your Electronic ID (usually firstname.lastname)
- Password: Leave Blank
- Click the Outgoing Mail Server drop down box
- Click Add Server
- In Outgoing Mail Server type
smtp.ndsu.nodak.edu
- Server Port: 587
- Check the box next to Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
- Set the Authentication method to Password
- User Name: Your electronic ID (usually firstname.lastname)
- Password: Leave Blank
- Click OK
- Click the Advanced tab
- In the Port field, type 993
- Check the box next to Use SSL
- Make sure that the Authentication option is set to Password
- Close the Preferences window and save changes
