McAfee AntiVirus 8.0i

The McAfee AntiVirus installation file has been set up with a default configuration recommended by NDSU-ITS.

McAfee AntiVirus Configuration

Antivirus software is required on all computers connecting to the Higher Education Computing Network (HECN). This includes Internet access at all 11 North Dakota University System (NDUS) campusesand applies to Macintosh and Unix-based systems in addition to Windows systems. However, this document covers only McAfee AntiVirus for Windows operating systems.

Technical requirements:

• McAfee AntiVirus 8.0i is for Windows NT-based systems. This includes Windows XP (Home and Professional) SP1 or greater, Windows 2000 SP3 or greater, and NT 4.0 SP6 or greater.

**McAfee AntiVirus 8.0i cannot run on Windows 9x systems including Windows 95, 98 and ME.**

• According to networkassociates.com, McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i requires a Pentium or Celeron processor running at a minimum of 166 MHz and 32MB of RAM.
