This document tells you how to re-import a computer into ConsoleOne/ZENworks if the machine name has been changed.

A few notes:

• After a machine name has been changed, remote control will no longer work until the workstation is re-imported under the new name.
• The old name will automatically be removed from ConsoleOne after 90 days.
  • To remove sooner, call the Help Desk to submit a trouble ticket.

After renaming the computer (to follow standard ITS-supported naming convention):

1. Log in as an administrator.
2. Go to Start > Run and type "cmd" in the open box; Click OK.
3. Enter the command "cd c:\Program Files\Novell\ZENworks\" and press Enter.
4. Enter the command "zwsreg -unreg" and press Enter.
   1. You should receive a notification in the command window that the workstation was unregistered.
5. Reboot the computer and log into Novell.
   1. Logging in "Workstation Only" will not register the computer.
6. Verify the workstation has imported by right-clicking on the ZENworks tray icon and observing that the "Security" option has grayed out. Importing may take one or two minutes to complete.
