Introduction
ITS Desktop Support has installed ZENworks, a desktop management
tool, on ITS-supported computers. ZENworks enables ITS to manage
limited resources wisely. It will save time, facilitate faster
support, and allow ITS to react proactively to security threats.
ZENworks will also provide benefits for our clients.
Benefits to
clients
- Faster response for many problems using remote access
ITS staff can access your computer remotely to diagnose and
resolve problems.
- Convenient support
ITS can schedule a time to work on your computer that will not
interfere with your work, such as over your lunch hour.
- Faster software installations
In the near future software will be pushed out to your computer
once the order has been processed. This should shorten the time
you have to wait for media or for a technician to install your
software.
- More secure computers
ITS can push out a critical update that will help protect the
campus against a major security threat.
- Faster recovery from major problems
If your computer has a major problem and is no longer
operational, ITS can get it back to its original state much
quicker. If you are saving your documents and data on the Novell
drives (S: or U: drives), no data will be lost.
