An easier, more reliable method of connecting to NDSU's Secure Wireless network is now available! All devices that need to be configured for NDSU's Secure Wireless network should use this method. If you are currently using the SecureW2 client to connect, you do not need to switch but are encouraged to switch if you are experiencing problems.
Use of secure wireless is required at many locations including Barry Hall, Klai Hall, Renaissance Hall, CityScapes, Candlewood Suites, and others. ITS strongly suggests Windows XP and Macintosh wireless users take advantage of the new wireless security, regardless of where they connect.
Individuals using the non-secure wireless connection will be limited to Web traffic only. Examples of applications that will not work over non-secure connections are:

Old Wireless Access Methods
Note: The following documentation is still available for archival purposes and ITS will continue to support devices connecting through these methods. However, all new devices should be configured using the new wireless authentication configuration outlined above.
SecureW2 has replaced the VPN (virtual private network) software as a more secure way to connect to the NDSU wireless network.
Macintosh users on OS X 10.4 or later can take advantage of the new security features built in to the operating system. The VPN is available for download and supported by ITS for Windows 2000 (and earlier) and Macintosh operating systems prior to version 10.4.
