Faculty, students and student organizations now have new NDSU Web site hosting options that allow greater flexibility, lower cost and better content accessibility for people with disabilities.

Enterprise Computing & Infrastructure, the department in the IT Division that operates campus networking and servers, has announced the following services are available for posting content online:

• Faculty now have the option of requesting individual Web sites on the TYPO3 Content Management System. These sites use the standard TYPO3 interface, but the faculty sites have a design that is distinct from the ones used by NDSU departments and business units. Previously, TYPO3 sites were only available to departments and business units. Faculty can sign up for TYPO3 services and then request a site at www.ndsu.edu/cms
• Accounts on the new PubWeb server are now available for students and student organizations, provided that a faculty member provides sponsorship. These accounts provide 100 megabytes of online storage at no charge. Previously, PubWeb accounts were only open to faculty, staff, departments and business units. More information on these accounts is available at www.ndsu.edu/eci/PublicWebHosting

All NDSU Web authors are reminded that the "old" Web server (known to some people as WebDev) is being retired on Nov. 23. Web sites on that server need to be moved before that date, or they will become unavailable. Individuals are strongly encouraged to check www.ndsu.edu/web to determine whether they have content on this server. The server retirement will NOT affect sites on TYPO3 or the new PubWeb service.
