To help us better understand the requirements for hosting your application on a server managed by ITS.

agreement with ITS. You may need to consult with your software vendor to obtain answers to some of these
questions.

- How many people will use this service?
- How many desktops will access this service?
- Will the server host any data that is sensitive in nature (e.g., protected by HIPAA or FERPA)?
- Does your application encrypt communication between the client and server? Please specify what
encryption method is used (e.g., SSL, TLS) and whether encryption can be mandatory.
- If you answered no to the previous question, does your application require IPSEC to be secure?
- Does your application enforce strong passwords?
- Does your application need to be behind a hardware firewall to be secure? Can it be secured with a
software firewall alone?
- What ports need to be open in a hardware or software firewall?
- Does your application require the use of a database (e.g., Microsoft SQL or Oracle)? Please
specify.
- The customer is responsible for any additional OS license fees such as Windows Server CALS and
