** Note **

Before installing the new SAS 9.1.3 (Contract Year 2007-2008) you need to do the following:

1. Backup all of your SAS Data / Files (Not the actual program, just your data files)

2. Completely uninstall any previous versions of SAS installed on your computer. (This version is not just an upgrade to your privious version, it is a new fresh install.)

These steps will only work if you have never installed SAS on your computer. If you have just uninstalled SAS and are now going to install a fresh install of SAS, it might skip over some of the steps. But the install process and steps should be very close.

1. Open up Windows Explorer and click on your CD (DVD) Drive, then double click on the Setup file as shown below.

2. Choose Setup Language, just click on the OK Button.

3. Click once on the link (#3) Install SAS Software.

4. The InstallShield Wizard will begin.

5. Click on the Next Button at the Welcome to the SAS Setup Wizard.

6. System Requirements Check, leave the Run System Requirements Wizard checked and click the Finish Button.

7. Click the Next Button.

8. Your system might need to be restarted at this point. You have the option to enter your login password (Novell password that you enter when your computer first starts up). Type in your password twice and then click the Next Button.

9. Click the Next Button at the System Components Update Box.

10. Click on the Finish Button.

11. At this point your computer might restart. Once your computer restarts and it logs you back in, the SAS End User Steps Box should automatically come back up. If not go back to step #1 to bring the box back up. Once you are at the screen below again, Click once on the link (#3) Install SAS Software.

12. Click the Next Button.

13. Leave the top button selected that says Existing, and then click the Next Button.

14. Click the Next Button.

15. Setup will start configuring programs.

16. Leave the defaults and click the Next Button.

17. Leave the defaults and click the Next Button.

18. Leave the defaults and click the Next Button.

19. Leave the defaults and click the Next Button.

20. Click the Next Button.

21. Setup will start copying files.

22. About half way through the install files Setup will prompt you to Confirm Update, and register .LOG files for use by SAS. Check the box and Click the Yes Button.

23. If you are installing SAS on a Windows XP SP2 Operating System, Windows will give you the following prompt block or unblock SAS 9.1 for Windows. Click on the Unblock Button.

24. Setup has finished. If you want to View Post-Installation Documentation or to Run SAS now, check the boxes and Click on the Finish Button. If you don't want to do either at this time, just Click and the Finish Button.
