Hours/week: 15-20 Minimum
Starting wage: $8.50/hour
Reports to: ITS Help Desk Management Team
Supervise and oversee the lifecycle of Help Desk equipment and
resources, including plotters, laptops, cameras, and other
resources made available to NDSU students, staff, and faculty.
Supervise and monitor all aspects of OMR and specialty print job
processing. This includes OMR and print job tracking, maintenance
and replacement of related equipment and consumables, training of
Help Desk staff, and ensuring billable services are handled
appropriately.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the operational management of resource-related
services offered by the ITS Help Desk
- Supervise, oversee, and assist consultants in all aspects of
OMR and specialty print job processing
- Maintain expertise in all Help Desk procedures by working
non-supervisory scheduled shifts in multiple Help Desk areas
- Assist in the development and supervision of training for
Help Desk employees on processing OMR and specialty print
jobs
- Provide end-user and in-house documentation
- Research and document common technical problems
- Conduct regular communication about the supervisor's area to
management
- Work with the Help Desk Manager on setting short and long
term goals
- Make recommendations to Help Desk Management on technology
purchase needs
- Facilitate the acquisition of new equipment, the retiring of
old equipment, and maintenance of current equipment
- The highest level of confidentiality will be maintained,
consultant will have access to privileged information that is
strictly governed by university policies and other state and
federal laws
- Maintain a high-level of professionalism and perform other
duties as directed or assigned by help desk management
Minimum Qualifications for Employment:
- Experience as a Help Desk Student Consultant (Tier 1) for one
semester or equivalent work experience
- Proven oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism
- Proven ability to complete projects and duties in a
self-directed manner
