Starting Wage: $11.00/hour
Reports to: STS Coordinator
The Student Technology Services (STS) manager is responsible for
overseeing the functions of STS and communicating on a regular
basis with the STS coordinator and other members of the STS
management team, STS employees, and various ITS staff. The STS
manager will work 20-25 hours per week, with the majority of hours
worked between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to allow for adequate
communication with STS and ITS personnel. The STS manager
supervises the STS personnel manager. The STS manager position is a
cooperative education assignment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee STS management team functions
- Organize and lead regularly scheduled meetings with the
STS personnel manager and the STS coordinator
- Review team goals and progress
- Perform supervisory duties for STS personnel manager
- Meet periodically with the ITS Leadership Team to communicate
ideas generated by STS supervisors and other STS employees and to
discuss issues that affect STS
- Oversee and coordinate the STS professional development
program
- Work closely with the ITS office manager to monitor the STS
budget
- Meet with STS supervisors of various work group areas to
monitor budgets and plan future budgets
- Meet with the STS supervisors on a regular basis
- Attend additional meetings as required
- Promote and maintain communication with STS employees via an
electronic list and Web site
- Organize and oversee STS communication
- Oversee development and maintenance of STS Web site
- Work with the STS management team to plan and coordinate STS
events, including the ITS Fall Student Employee Retreat
- Make presentations about STS to STS employees, ITS staff, and
other campus entities, as necessary
- Work with the ITS communications coordinator to coordinate
ITS/STS presence at NDSU recruitment and orientation activities
(e.g., Discover NDSU, resource fairs, career fairs, and Spectrum
articles)
- Actively participate in new employee orientation
sessions
- Work with the management team and ITS staff to develop
management training for STS supervisors
- Oversee the development of STS training opportunities
- Evaluate current training methods, and explore alternative
training methods for the STS program
- Enforce STS work practices
- Adhere to NDSU human resources policies
- Maintain a high level of professional competency
- Deal with sensitive situations and information in a
confidential manner
- Work safely
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Sophomore or higher standing
- 2.5 G.P.A. or higher
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Leadership experience

- Supervisory/management experience
- Management-related or other appropriate courses or
training
- Accounting experience
- Marketing experience
- Customer service experience
- Computer skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Web
development
