Blackboard 8.0: Adding Content to Your Course

Once your Blackboard course (the "course shell") is available, it's time to add all of the important content (e.g. syllabus, lecture notes, assignments, etc.) In this session you'll learn how to add and edit your content.

Here's what we'll cover:

  • Switching between "Edit View" (Quick Edit mode) and "Display View" (the student view mode)
  • Adding content items to a content area
  • The difference between Items and Folders
  • Creating links from one content area to content located in another area
  • Adding Tests/Surveys and External Links to content areas
  • Using the Assignments tool to post assignments with instructions and optional file attachments, and retrieving each student's completed assignment and grading it via the online Grade Center tool
  • Adding Learning Units to a content area
  • Moving/Copying existing content to other areas or other Blackboard courses
  • Managing the timed release of course content
  • Using the Syllabus Builder to create your course syllabus
