Blackboard's Discussion Board has long been a powerful tool for
stimulating reflection and discussion, or for peer review of drafts
or designs.
The Discussion Board has several changes and enhancements in our
current version, Blackboard 8.0. This class is designed to help you
learn how to take advantage of the Discussion Board.
You'll learn how to:
- Create a new forum
- Modify existing forums
- Choose different forum options to fit your class needs
- Participate in a forum by adding new threads and/or replying
to existing threads
- Add searchable tags to Discussion Board posts
- Monitor students' contributions to forums using the
Discussion Board and the Performance Dashboard
- Grade students' Discussion Board participation through the
Discussion Board and through the Discussion Grader building block
tool
- Link Discussion Board grades to an item in the Grade
Center
- Attach files to Discussion Board posts
- Use the Discussion Board in conjunction with the Groups
feature to allow group discussion and/or collaboration
Prerequisites: Familiarity with the Blackboard system.
