Individual Assistance
- Get help with computer-related coursework and projects.
- Learn basic computer skills via individual tutoring.
- Walk in during lab hours or make an
appointment to meet with a knowledgeable student learning
assistant.
- Student learning assistants can help
TLC student learning assistants come from diverse academic
fields and possess a wide range of computer skills. Although all
learning assistants can with general computing topics, each
learning assistant has specific areas of expertise, which are
posted in the lab. TLC learning assistants are not equipped to
handle hardware repairs and do not support some department-specific
specialized software including Mathematica, SPSS, and SAS.
Plotting and Other Specialty Printing Services
Two plotters, one 36-inch wide and one 42-inch wide, are
available at the Help Desk (IACC 150).
- Get help at the TLC with setting up and sending your plot to
the plotters.
- There is a charge
for using the plotters.
- Check out these guidelines for creating your plot.
- Other specialty printing options include color
laser printing, laser glossy photo paper, and overhead
transparencies.
Multimedia Services
- Capture, edit, and export audio and video.
- Publish audio and video on CDs, DVDs, or VHS tapes.
- Convert audio and video to various file formats.
- Use up-to-date hardware and software for your multimedia
projects.
Self-Paced Learning Opportunities
- Use training manuals, reference books, and tutorials
available in the lab to learn at your own pace and in your own
time. Please note: Materials must be used in the lab.
- Use Typing Tutor to learn or improve keyboarding skills.
- Get online help with class projects at the Sponge Web
site.
Faculty Resources
- Instructors who plan to assign technology-intensive projects
can receive help with project planning, identifying best methods,
and coordinating learning and support services for their
students. For more information, see information about the Sponge
