Using Templates in Dreamweaver

Why Use Templates

About Dreamweaver templates - What are they and why do I need one?

First of all, you don't have to use a template. If your project will involve one or two web pages, you probably don't need a template and can skip this section!

A Dreamweaver template is a special type of document that you use to incorporate a uniform style throughout the whole web site. Because all of the pages in the web site are attached to a template, one of the most powerful uses of templates is the ability to update multiple pages at once. You make a change to the template document, and that change is reflected to all the pages attached to that document.

Dreamweaver templates typically include:

  • Header graphics
  • Navigation links
  • Contact information
