Understanding Resolution
It is important to understand how resolution works, because resolution is a key concept in image design and printing. Following is a basic tutorial that explains what resolution is, and how it affects an image:

Scanning Images
Several scanners are available in the Technology Learning and Media Center (IACC 150C) for use by students. A large format scanner is also on hand for tabloid-size scanning at high resolutions, with a scan area of 12x17 inches.
The scanners are most commonly used for:
- Scanning pictures
- Scanning text to Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files for reading
- Scanning text to MS Word (.docx) files for editing
